What do you say about carpet warranty?

In another thread the topic of conversation got derailed from a simple request for info concerning a postcard ad to whether a person should be offering encapsulation as a stand alone business. The main argument was concerning voiding a carpet warranty and that the CRI do not approve this method as an approved method to satisfy warranty requirements.
If you have had this conversation with a client, how did you handle it?
