Spitfire 4.0 oil coming out the exhaust at the front of the machine

i have just got a spitfire 4.0 and when i started it up i noticed it has oil coming from the exhaust on the front of the machine, i would expect a small amount of oil from the previous owner lubricating the blower but this seems a little exesive
does anyone know if this is normal or do i have a problem
