Need help with basic steps

Hey everyone I'm new to carpet cleaning and want to get a business up and going.
I currently have a trusted clean heated box extractor. (Wish I would have got a truck mount).
What process from start to finish would u suggest. To me the few carpets of my own I tried just dont seem to come as clean as I think they should.
Maybe I'm not using the extractor the correct way. But what process wouldn't guys recommend
