Acid Rinse or Alkaline Rinse?

I've been playing with the rinses and they both seem to have a reason for each. They both seem to have the same purpose. I'm talking about synthetic and or commercial carpet.

Which one do you prefer and why?

Also, I know that plain water rinses just fine also, so don't even bring that up.
