This was from about 2003....10' box w lift gate on the Isuzu.... Gm 350 motor .... 11 mpg.

I never lettered that van.... Many of my wealthy clients didn't want the neighbors to know who was doing what at their homes.

First restaurant with my new setup. What a difference!

How is the heat affecting your Truckmount? I took the covers off mine to try keeping it cooler. It seems to have helped, not having to waste all my fresh water to keep system cool.

Anyone you spend money with is a potential client that is not to be overlooked. Simply asking and following up can lead to large jobs. Besides the law of reciprocity is engaged. People like to do business with people who do business with them but if you don't ASK you won't receive.

What do I need.

Hey Guys,

Well I am looking to get into the biz. Mostly because I have been working in hotels for years and have hired so many companies that have done a bad job on my rooms. I am looking at a used prochem unit with a 22hp engine. How many feet of hose can you run with a 22 horse? I am wanting to start off contracting with a few rental house companies then move into hotels/commercial and industrial (floor buffing/tile).

Any tips on buying preowned equip would be nice as well.

Thanks
Mike

Hardwood Killing Your Biz?

I've done cc for 20 years now. I remember in the 90's as soon as you walked into a home it was wall to wall carpet (even in some bathrooms and kitchens). As time went on hardwood flooring became less expensive and more popular.

I saw the change and got into window and duct cleaning. Today in a typical home I see very little carpet. Maybe on the stairs or in the basement.

I had many contracts with restaurants that have all changed to tile ( I clean t/g also but the demand isn't as...

Hi TMF! I just started my business in May of this year. I have cleaned and sealed ceramic tile very successfully! I have a chance for two travertine tile kitchen jobs yet I know it is natural stone so I am unsure of the process. I would much appreciate if some of you guys could shed some light on how to clean and seal travertine tile. She says the grout is really dirty. What process? Tools? Products etc? Thank you

Well I won the battle in my eyes but lost the war on this job today and had to no pay the client.
New client just bought a fixer upper house that the previous owner did a lot of diy work on and it was in pretty bad shape and all the floors were beyond fixing which I told them that from day one and they wanted me to do both showers anyway.... I removed a ton of mineral deposits but I could not fully remove them from the ceramic tile. there were a lot of chips in the grout which show shadows,...

Im curious who here has a full time sales guy or team? How well is this working for you? Is this person just someone who runs estimates or are they doing actual sales ( cold calls, door knocking, business walk ins, etc)

How does your pay structure work for this person? Is it commission based? Hourly? Both?

Part Time Carpet Cleaning Business

So i purchased a portable rotovac extractor with 360i couple months ago. I basically made this purchase to do carpet cleaning as part time while I'm still in school. Ive had customers here and there. My marketing strategy hasn't worked out great. Ive created some flyers and placed them in neighborhoods but haven't hit the jackpot on that. I also made a car magnet for my vehicle. Any other suggestions would be great.....Thanks in advance

Who said New Jersey people were rude?

It's been a great week in New Jersey/New York! (Tri-State, our East Coast location)
We've been setting up the new store and met some really great carpet cleaners this week.

For the past couple months when people heard we were opening a store in New Jersey, all I've heard is stories about how rude and hard the people of New Jersey are. And that I will be lost in a mass of negative people. Seriously!
But I have found it to be totally the opposite! I've not met one negative or harsh or...
