I pushed the old wand for 2 years in the carpet cleaning business. Started my own business in 2014 with some used old fashioned equipment. Ready to upgrade to a rotary machine and I was wondering, which one of these is better:
Mytee T-rex, Rotovac 360i or Mytee T-rex jr. ???

Hello All -

Are there any TMF carpet cleaners near Fargo, ND? My wife and I are interested in a ride-a-long to see if we should continue our research into starting a carpet cleaning business. I am a very hands on person and want to see carpet cleaning in action. So many choices Truck Mount, Porty, VLM, etc... it seems the more I dig into this the more I see "you need this and you need that". Let me know if anyone would be interested... would be more than happy to help over a couple days...

Today we signed up for house call. Ive been working on it the last hour or so and it seems pretty confusing. I know I'm probably overwhelmed just because its new. Here are the features that sold me on it

1. The automated emails and postcards. I think these will bring in business.
2. The app. I wanted something the techs could use on the truck and it be easier than the customer factor.
3. I liked how easy it was for the techs to keep the customer in the loop of where they were in the process...

White Magic 1200HP shutting down/overheating

I have a White Magic 1200HP (2008) direct drive. The last 2 days it keeps shutting down on me. It works for about the first 30mins to and hour and then it shuts down. I let it cool for 5-15 mins and try again. It will work for 10-20 mins and then shut down again. It just keeps doing that the rest of the day. I have called Saphire to see if they have any suggestions but to no avail.

Took it to my mechanic who usually works on it (not a specialist) and he ran it for 45 mins without any...

Got some bad news today. I need a heart transplant. My blower is shot. Been making some grinding noise for a while now. They say it's my blower. Spent $3,591.55 for the blower. Going to take a week till it gets here and then I'm into it for another $600 or so to install it. Not in a my happy place today.:meh::arghh::arghh::arghh::blackeye::rage::rage:

How many carpet cleaning companies out there are producing a million dollars in revenue?

This will freak most of you out because you probably think its impossible, but I'm curious if anyone knows any CC companies that are producing a million bucks a year in revenue? For the last few months I've been doing comparisons between the exterior cleaning world ( windows, house wash, gutter clean, roof clean ) compared to the floor care world ( carpet, tile, etc )..

We haven't found anyone doing more than about 1.5 million a year in the exterior cleaning business. To me this says...

I am thinking about getting an Esteam E1200 hard surface portable, complete with all the tools from Hydro-force i.e.. spinner wand, hand spinner, Gekko tools, basically everything that I will need to do tile and grout. Does anyone have much experience with this sort of set up? I am already fully set up in the truck mount department, it is just the portable and tile and grout tools that are a must have at the moment.

How is the heat affecting your Truckmount? I took the covers off mine to try keeping it cooler. It seems to have helped, not having to waste all my fresh water to keep system cool.

OK so I just got a call from a bid we put in and it was 3 times more then the other ppl that bid this job. Attached is a list of what they wanted done and the Sq ft of this place was about 8000 to 8500 Sq ft. We charged 3500 a month with a yr contract or 4500 with a 30 day. Did we over bid? 95% of the building is tile.

What's The Longest Hose Run With A 400 psi Pump?

Hello again,

So, 2 x 3 stage parallel vacs can run 75 - 100 foot of 2 inch vac hose..

But, what about my 400 psi pump, is it capable of pushing the water that far do you think?

Also, will my in line heater lose a fair bit of heat traveling that far down the line? I'd imagine so..

If you were brand new to janitorial what would you go after first?

My company is looking to start a new division and its going to be either janitorial or carpet cleaning. We live in a small town ( 3,000 people ) and are about a hour north of Detroit. If we go the janitorial route what would you suggest going after? Small mom and pop shops? Insurance offices? Doctors?

How in the world do I go about quoting something like that? Maybe list 5 of the most common services in the janitorial world. Thanks!

Little urine damage

This floor keeps getting worse. They won't let me take the rug. Seems they only ever wanna spend about 150 on cleanings. I do another small room amd hall. All I can do is rinse both sides of this end. They leave the rug flopped over for a couple hours. I rinse a little on the hardwood. And mist some peroxcellent on the dark spots. Just to knock it down a bit. Black spots are beyond cleaning. I been pushing them to take this rug forever. Maybe next time. They always say.

I have a 02 white magic pro 1200 direct drive , I just got a brand new rebuilt engine in the truck and I tried to do a job today but the Pto only revs the engine at 1000 rps instead of 1450. Can anyone help me on what the problem could be. Thank you kindly.
