Anyone have any trouble with this Carpet? Seems difficult to get it like I normally make hotel carpet look. Which is basically new. Spots are very deep. Sort of like bluish shadows . Shows on the yellows the worst. I guess from black soil and yellow carpet. Making spots look blue.
I tried several things including boosting with gm. This time I used some bio break . Seemed it helped with the enzymes. But I literally have to spray deep every dark spot and flush heavily. Also pre spray...

If you run a top quality operation you will have , hopefully very often, the situation where you get to serve a new client from referral.

They trust you because someone they trust said they could.

So what do you do when they are not there to prequalify the job?

You let yourself in and find that there are things that need to be talked about.
ie: red stains, wear patterns, dark yellow pee spots.

Well even the best of us can't guarantee some of these situations. With them there we...

This is kind of a carry over form another thread ( early thank you to TMF)
We were discussing a little bit how some many of the large players in the industry advertise here.

Any ways my curiosity got ahold of me and I did a little digging. Found the advertising rates page,,, and took a look. WOW!!

Rob you really built something impressive!!

I really had no Idea that a carpet cleaning forum could be an empire all by it's self.

I see all these great articles that Steve links to, and read as many as I "have time to". But generally the order I read them in is haphazard. The information in them is like gold, so I wanted to ask if anyone else would like to join me in a challenge for ourselves, and a request for Steve. For the month of August I am going to read one of his articles every morning M-F. I would like for him to give us/me an order to read them in (maybe the order they are in for the 5 day crash course.

Looking forward to giving this a good test out this week.
Had one day with it so far very impressed with the heat and suction especially with it being winter where I am.
The machine is well made and good quality.
It is a little noisier than I was expecting considering the 2 mufflers and a bit thirstier on fuel but I can back
off the revs if I need too and it still performs good.
I will check in at 50 hours....

I did get it fixed shortly after this. I developed a very loud whistle from the glide when trying to clean a hotel restaurant. Talk about annoying. sounds like letting air our of a balloon slowly in there. One hand cleaning at its finest!

Hi TMF! I just started my business in May of this year. I have cleaned and sealed ceramic tile very successfully! I have a chance for two travertine tile kitchen jobs yet I know it is natural stone so I am unsure of the process. I would much appreciate if some of you guys could shed some light on how to clean and seal travertine tile. She says the grout is really dirty. What process? Tools? Products etc? Thank you

My first major problem on my Boxxer XL has started

It's actually a very tiny problem that has been a nuisance to me and the service techs at Jondon. I'm going to start by saying that Eric and his crew at the Jondon in Norcross, ga have been doing an AWESOME job at trying to fix this little problem, and they are reminding me how well they back their warranty with replacement parts AND service.

It started when I saw a little puddle of oil right under my blower. I found that the little leak is coming from the drain port. Simple fix I...

Hello All,

I am 100% new to carpet cleaning and doing some research. Here is what I know. First year I will be doing nearly 100% residential cleaning w/ a majority falling under apartments between 900-1200 square feet but a good possibility of cleaning a buddies 30-room hotel (super 8ish). It will be solely my wife and I w/ about 30 hours each week (60 combined).

We have set our eyes on VLM only for the first year after which we would re-evaluate to see what other machines can be added to...

Hardwood Killing Your Biz?

I've done cc for 20 years now. I remember in the 90's as soon as you walked into a home it was wall to wall carpet (even in some bathrooms and kitchens). As time went on hardwood flooring became less expensive and more popular.

I saw the change and got into window and duct cleaning. Today in a typical home I see very little carpet. Maybe on the stairs or in the basement.

I had many contracts with restaurants that have all changed to tile ( I clean t/g also but the demand isn't as...

Gum Removal from concrete???

I did 2 commercial pressure washing jobs yesterday cleaning the sidewalks in front of the stores. The concrete cleaned up real nice and I removed all the gum using 250 degree high pressure which took the gum right off. After working my way all the way down the sidewalk just removing gum I then put down some concrete cleaner and scrubbed the entire sidewalk (working in small areas at a time) with a 175 & black pad and rinsed with the pressure washer again.

My question is even though I have...
